Tips for success in online and blended courses

Read the course syllabus and schedule
Log in to your online class at least three or four times per week
**For blended courses, it is important to attend in person class sessions. Both class formats (online and in person) are equally important.
Keep a calendar of all significant dates pertaining to your course
Understand the assignments and talk with your instructor if you need clarification
Participate in class discussions
Participate in virtual office hours via Zoom. This lets you meet your instructor, and possibly classmates, in real time. It's a good idea to at least go to the first office hour just to introduce yourself and get familiar with Zoom.
Check your email account regularly for updated information.
Use the conversations feature (click Inbox on the global navigation) for private messages to the instructor and other students
If you have questions or confusion about an assignment, take action promptly! Check the Frequently Ask & Answer Forum to see if your concern has been addressed already - if not, post your question there.
Read directions carefully.
Follow the Netiquette Guidelines
Have a time management schedule
Have a dedicated study area
Get good sleep, eat healthy, and exercise
Organize your study materials
Be an active reader, reading to understand
Take organized notes
Write drafts of papers
Study for exams in advance
