3.9 RESOURCES FOR FACULTY
Child Care
Associated Students hosts a Children’s Center of early childhood education "that provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of young children." Priority is given to CSUN students, but child care is available for faculty depending on space availability. Visit the Children's Center's website for enrollment information.
The Lab School, of the Child & Family Studies Center, is an accredited early childhood program right on campus that provides opportunities for the observation, participation, and training of university students while offering developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children and their families. Child care is available for faculty depending on space availability. Visit the Lab School's website for admission information.
CSUN MataCard
MataCard is your secure digital CSUN ID card. It replaces the need for a physical ID card and serves as a convenient form of campus identification accessible via your iPhone, Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy or other eligible Android phones.
The digital ID card is your passport to a world of services and privileges on campus. You can also add money to your account and use your MataCard like a debit card for select purchases on campus—at the Campus Store, at eateries, at Mercado locations or when using beverage vending machines. (Some campus eateries even offer a 5% discount when you pay with your MataCard!) And, just like the physical ID card, the MataCard verifies your employee status for discounts from nearby merchants and restaurants.
Student Recreation Center
The Student Recreation Center (SRC) of the University Student Union (USU) has several membership options available to faculty which give you access to approximately 283,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space to provide you with an exceptional variety of exercise and leisure activities. Your membership to the facility includes access to weight and fitness zones, group fitness classes, two outdoor pools, a three-story rock wall, an indoor track, and many other features. The SRC also offers a wide-range of fun recreation programs like Intramural Sports, various fitness and swim challenges, and much more. Visit the SRC website for more information and to access frequently asked questions. The SRC looks forward to welcoming you!
Discounted Tickets
The A.S. Ticket Office in the University Student Union offers discounted tickets to amusement parks, such as Universal Studios, Legoland, and Knott’s Berry Farm as well as movie theater passes for students, faculty, and staff. In addition, the ticket office is the place to purchase tickets to more than 250 events that happen on campus each year, such as theatre and music productions, athletic events, performance hall events, student productions and more.
