5.1 MODULE 5 OVERVIEW

This module provides basic information about university-level resources to support your research, scholarship and creative activities.
Generally, scholarship is not a requirement for lecturers. However, there are still scholarship opportunities available for faculty of all types.
For tenure-track faculty and lecturers wishing to get involved with scholarship: we appreciate that it is common to start your position with a stronger focus on your teaching demands in the first couple of months. We also recognize that your discipline and department may have unique resources to support your scholarly efforts. For both of these reasons, this module is not intended to be comprehensive or disciplinary specific. This information is just intended to give you a general overview about these topics. Please contact your department chair for more specific information.
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Identify resources for finding and applying for scholarly grants
- Recall sources of support for your own scholarly (and teaching) activities at our campus library
- Recognize advice from more senior faculty regarding scholarship
- Recall centers and institutes designed to support your scholarship at CSUN
