Lecturer Faculty: Entitlements and Range Elevations
7.4 LECTURER FACULTY: ENTITLEMENTS & RANGE ELEVATIONS
Welcome Lecturers! While your formal CSU position is called lecturer, the local culture on our campus has also adopted the terms, part-time faculty or temporary faculty. This page is dedicated to learning more about the processes on how lecturers are evaluated and reviewed at CSUN.
The processes for being invited to teach again (reassignment) and gaining a clear predictability about future employment is called "entitlements." Moving up the pay scale is what is known as "range elevation." Some of the processes and steps are standardized for all lecturers. And just like tenure-track faculty, some are very specific to the local department (e.g., some lecturers will be asked to submit a PIF while others do not). Below are resources to learn more about what the review process looks like for lecturers.
