Your Department’s Phone Number & Main Office Email

Your department’s phone number may be found on the main department website, usually on the left side of the screen. Call this number if you need to cancel class or if you have any issues or concerns. The department staff may not have all the answers, but they will be able to connect you with someone who can help! 

Campus Police Department: 911 for emergencies

The non-emergency line is (818) 677-2111. Call this number if you are concerned about criminal activity. Police services also maintains the Lost and Found. They are available 24/7. 

Physical Plant Management (PPM): (818) 677-2222

Is your classroom burning hot or freezing cold? Did a student (or you) dump a Big Gulp on the floor, creating a slipping hazard? Is the ceiling leaking? Did you notice a damaged elevator, broken sprinkler, or other issue requiring attention? Are you aware of sick or injured wildlife on campus? PPM will often send someone out right away if you call during business hours. You can also email ppm.wcc@csun.edu

Available M-F 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For after-hours urgent situations (safety hazards), you may call the police nonemergency line at (818) 677-2111. 

Classroom Support: (818) 677-1500

Is the classroom computer or projector not turning on? Is the audio not working? Do you need help with a document camera or other piece of classroom technology? Do you just need batteries for the mouse or keyboard? Classroom support is incredibly helpful and will often send someone out right away. 

They are generally available during class times. Full hours available on the Classroom Support website. 

Faculty Technology Center (FTC): (818) 677-3443

Need help with Canvas, Zoom, or other learning technology? FTC can help! You can also email ftc@csun.edu or walk-in to the University Library room 33 (Garden Level). Drop-in Zoom hours are listed on their website. 

University Counseling Services (UCS): (818) 677-2366

Are you concerned that one of your students may be thinking about hurting themselves? UCS counselors offer consultations by phone to talk you through how to best support your students. Press Option 1 during business hours or Option 3 for after-hours emergency advice.

Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES): (818) 677-2684

Has a student chosen to disclose that they have a disability, but you’re unsure how to accommodate them? DRES counselors will consult with you about best practices and all of your options. Note: You are legally required to facilitate DRES-approved accommodations. DRES counselors will help you!

National Center on Deafness (NCOD): (818) 677-2054

Do you have a Deaf or hard of hearing student? NCOD can answer any questions about working with interpreters or captionists. You can also submit videos for captioning! (Note: all videos must be captioned.)
