New Faculty Foundations: Part 1 Virtual Event

The Faculty Development team has completely redesigned our August live program in structure and delivery to accommodate the varied needs during this pandemic moment. For instance, we've significantly reduced the synchronous time together this week; we hope NOT locking you in a zoom room from 8-5 for two days was the right decision for you?

But this means the presenters who typically attend this large face-to-face event, now have an asynchronous presence in this Canvas resource. They really want to meet you. And they really want you to know about them. We reassured the 60 humans from 40 offices that we would present this resource to you.

One of the most impactful outcomes from our new faculty events is not only the information presented, but how we cultivate opportunities for new faculty to make authentic connections with others. We intend to maintain that critical goal in our virtual redesign.

Our vision is that newly hired faculty who engage with our program will embrace their first day on the job with:

critical information needed for your position (with an emphasis on the first few months)
a sense of connection to the campus community
increased confidence to begin your first weeks as a faculty member at CSUN
